Kimberly Sorgenti, MSW, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked with children, adolescents, and families experiencing emotional and behavioral difficulties for the past ten years. She has served children and families who have experienced anxiety, attachment, trauma, grief and loss issues. Kim has been successful in dealing with children who have severe behavioral and emotional needs by creating a therapeutic outlet for them to learn and grow.
Kim approaches therapy with families from a client centered, strength based perspective. She believes that children and families have the ability to heal with a nurturing, empathetic therapist. Kim provides this for her clients by using therapeutic play and creative treatment modalities to individualize treatment based on her clients’ needs. Kim has experience providing therapy for children in foster care and adoption. In addition, she has her School Social Worker Certificate and has worked in a school placement with children who have severe emotional and behavioral disabilities.
Kim holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Temple University. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, with a minor in law and justice, from Rider University. Kim has post-graduate training in play therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Sand Play therapy, domestic violence, crisis management, and DIR/Floortime.
In her free time, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband and twins. She loves traveling, reading, and cooking.
